Welcome to the vibrant and dynamic Computer Science and Engineering department at Dr. D Y Patil Pratisthan’s College of Engineering! Our department takes pride in offering a comprehensive and cutting-edge educational experience that prepares students for success in the rapidly evolving field of technology. Computer Science and Engineering department established in the year 2014, evolved to meet the growing demands of the dynamic technological landscape. Commencing with an original intake of 60 seats for the undergraduate program, we have expanded our capacity to accommodate the escalating interest and enthusiasm of aspiring students. In response to the surging demand, our intake was increased from 60 to 120 seats in 2021, reflecting the popularity and recognition of our program. The overwhelming interest in the IT sector and the ever-expanding opportunities in the field prompted another expansion, taking our intake from 120 to 180 seats in the academic year 2023-24. Presently, our BTech in Computer Science and Engineering program, affiliated with Shivaji University Kolhapur, accommodates 180 seats, catering to a diverse and ambitious cohort of students. State-of-the-Art Infrastructure: Our commitment is to provide quality of education in our present facilities. We have six labs, each designed for different aspects of computer science, providing hands-on learning experiences. A central computing facility serves as a hub for collaborative projects, giving students access to the latest technology. We offer ICT classrooms to enhance the learning environment, ensuring an interactive and tech-driven atmosphere. Dedicated cabins for the HOD, Dean of Research, and faculty members promote collaboration and innovation. Our facilities are equipped with the latest technology, including software, nurturing hands-on learning and innovation. Faculty members are dedicated to preparing students for the evolving field of computer science. Computer Science and Engineering department concentrates on innovative teaching and learning technique, infrastructure, empowering students for success in the exciting world of computer science. Competent Faculty and Hardworking Students: Our teachers are skilled and experienced, with some having Ph.D. degrees and others working towards it, bringing an average of 7 years of professional teaching experience. We are dedicated to provide good education, and our teachers keep learning through programs and workshops (such as NPTEL, NITTTR). Students also take part in exams to improve their studies (GDSC, NPTEL, IIT Bombay Summer Fellowship). We also connect with industries, giving chances for work experience and job opportunities. This helps our students get ready for jobs. Students are active in clubs like Code-up Community, Founders Lab, Google Developers Student Club, and Brilliantus, where they work together after college hours and create new ideas.
