Dr. Rutikesh Pandit Gurav. Head of the Department of First Year Engineering. (M.Sc. Ph. D Chemistry (Department of Chemistry, Shivaji University, Kolhapur) |
It’s my immense pleasure to give introduction of First Year Engineering department to you all. The Department of First Year Engineering is strengthened with well qualified and dedicated faculty members who is also involved in updation of their knowledge continuously through Online course, FDPs, Seminar and Workshops. The Department of First Year Engineering comprises of Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry and Professional Communication. From its inception to the present, Department of First Year Engineering has evolved and grown in several directions. From last few years, there have been striking changes in terms of faculty recruitment, research output which will surely enable the future growth of the department. Engineering Mathematics plays an important role in formulating engineering problems into a mathematical model and providing solutions to them. Engineering Physics is the root of all engineering branches. It correlates nanotechnology, mechanics, electronics, computer science, civil etc. Engineering Chemistry is the basic subject to analyze the molecular structure of the compound. It creates bond length with all engineering branches. The subject of Professional Communication introduces some fundamental theoretical concepts as grammar, phonology, and differences between verbal and non-verbal communication. It also focuses on LSRW skills, soft skills, debate, group discussion which help for the overall development of the student. The First Year Engineering Department Laboratories like Physics, Chemistry, and Professional Communication are fully equipped, well furnished, and necessary infrastructural facilities. We have Implemented Project Based Learning (PBL), Course Level Project Based Learning (CPBL) Activity Based Learning (ABL), and Design Based Learning (DBL), in our First Year department The department’s academic results have been consistently excellent. Our department also motivates the student to involve in extracurricular activities for overall development of students. I am sure that, the faculty and students will continue with the good work and bring laurels to the academics. |
