DYP Salokhenagar Team in Top 10 @ Make In India Expo 2016 A Project submitted by the Students of DY Patil College of Engineering Salokhenagar at “Make in India Expo” Mumbai finished among top 10 out of the thousands of projects submitted by other Engineering colleges. The project was presented by Pravin Mengane, Pratish Wale, Pranav Bhatale, and Raviraj patil under the able guidance of Prof. Sangram Patil, Gaurav Desai, Swapnil Killedar and Mohammed Mullani. The project was based on the concept of “Portable Dam” and employed the idea of “Save Water”. There are several villages in India where there is good rainfall but three is no system for storage of rain water. Inorder to prove their point, the students selected Salashi Village under Shahuwadi Taluka. They chose a watershed site which is used to store water from rains and canals. Through their project they proved that not only can the water be used for consumption but also to produce 1.5 MW of electricity which can be used to light up the village street lights for one year. They project presentation recieved applause from the organisers and they were ranked among top 10 i the overall competition. The students recieved support from the President of Dr. D.Y Patil Pratishthan Mr. Satej D patil.
