Eligibility Criteria

B.E. / B.Tech Admission Eligibility Criteria

Maharashtra State Candidate Eligibility

Basic Conditions

  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Must satisfy one of the Maharashtra State candidature types (Type A, B, C, D or E).

Maharashtra State Candidature Types

Type A

Passed SSC/HSC or Diploma in Maharashtra and born in Maharashtra or possess Maharashtra Domicile.

Documents: Domicile Certificate or Birth / School Leaving Certificate
Type B

Parent possesses Maharashtra Domicile Certificate.

Documents: Parent's Domicile Certificate
Type C

Parent is Government of India / Central PSU employee posted in Maharashtra.

Documents: Proforma A / A-1
Type D

Parent is/was Maharashtra Government or Maharashtra PSU employee.

Documents: Proforma B / B-1
Type E

Maharashtra–Karnataka Border Area candidate having Marathi as mother tongue.

Documents: Prescribed Type-E Certificates

Academic Qualification

Option 1 – 12th (PCM)
  • Physics & Mathematics compulsory.
  • One additional subject such as Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, IT, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics etc.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • 45% – General
    • 40% – Reserved / EWS / PwD
Option 2 – 12th (PCB)
  • Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
  • Applicable only for eligible branches like Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, Food Engineering etc.
Option 3 – Diploma
  • Passed 3-Year Diploma in Engineering & Technology from a recognized institute.

Entrance Examination

  • Must appear for MHT-CET 2026 (PCM/PCB).
  • Must obtain a non-zero score.

All India Candidate Eligibility

Basic Conditions

  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Maharashtra Domicile is not mandatory.

Academic Qualification

  • 12th (PCM / Eligible PCB) OR Diploma in Engineering.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • 45% General
    • 40% Reserved (where applicable)

Entrance Examination

  • Valid JEE Main Score OR
  • Valid MHT-CET Score.

Admission Process

Admission Process

Admissions to B.E./B.Tech programs are conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) as per the guidelines of the Government of Maharashtra and the State CET Cell.

Admission Portal

The Admission Portal redirects applicants to the official Maharashtra CAP Portal where students can:

  • Register for CAP.
  • Complete the online application form.
  • Upload all required documents.
  • Participate in choice filling and seat allotment.
  • Check schedules, notices and admission updates.

Register for CAP

Create an account on the official Maharashtra Engineering CAP Portal and fill in your personal, academic and entrance examination details.

Upload Required Documents

  • Class X & XII Mark Sheets
  • MHT-CET / JEE Main Score Card
  • School Leaving / Transfer Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste & Validity Certificate (if applicable)
  • Non-Creamy Layer Certificate
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Passport-size Photograph & Signature

Document Verification

Documents are verified online or through the designated Facilitation Centre according to the admission schedule.

Merit List

The provisional merit list is published first. Candidates can submit grievances before the final merit list is released.

Choice Filling

Select and prioritize colleges and branches according to your preference. Multiple choices can be submitted.

Seat Allotment

Seats are allotted through multiple CAP rounds based on merit rank, reservation, category and preference order.

Confirm Admission

Accept the allotted seat, pay the prescribed admission fees and report to the allotted institute within the stipulated time.

Maharashtra State Candidates

Admissions are primarily based on valid MHT-CET scores through the CAP process.

All India Candidates

Candidates under the All India Quota are considered on the basis of valid JEE Main scores as per Government norms.

  • Scholarships are provided as per Government of Maharashtra rules.

💯 100% Tuition Fee Waiver

  • Applicable for SC, ST, VJ/DT, NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D) and SBC categories.
  • TFWS Scheme provides 100% tuition fee waiver.
  • 5% seats are reserved in every course based on merit and eligibility.

🟢 50% Tuition Fee Waiver

  • Available for OBC students.
  • Available for EWS students.
  • Open category students eligible under the EBC Scheme.

🤝 Minority Scholarships

  • Eligible minority students can apply.
  • Scholarships are offered by the Government of Maharashtra.
